This Super Cruise was no different than others in the sense of being jam-packed with activities galore and shows featuring many of my favorite artists I’d never get to see in one week. The excitement and countdown began in 2017 when Capital Jazz announced the 2019 cruise, while I excitedly awaited the talented line-up announcements. I can’t be certain if my appetite is satisfied with Capital Jazz feeding the artists to us ala carte or if they should serve them all on one platter.

Full-Ship Music Festival at Sea
Many from the bald head community attended the Bald Head Convention hosted by funny man, Michael Colyar. Besides having a good mixture of history and modernism, this precious island of Curacao is also a a multicultural melting pot. Willemstad, the island’s capital and historic center, is a unique mixture of Dutch architecture and Caribbean pastels. It has been recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Seventeen days later, on January 24, Capital Jazz emailed customers saying refunds will arrive in 90 days but it would charge a three percent deduction for any credit card payment. On Jan. 7, Capital Jazz emailed canceling the cruise one week out saying the CDC issued a Level 4 Alert advising travelers to avoid cruises. If you made your reservation over the phone or have forgotten your user name or password, please click "View Your Account" below, then "Forgot your User Name or Password?" and temporary login info will be emailed to you. If you will be traveling solo, a $195 single supplement will be automatically added to the total. This supplement does not apply for single cabins (interior categories M, MM, or N). If you have a group of 12 or more persons who will be attending this year’s festival on the same day, you’re eligible to purchase group tickets and have the per-ticket service charges waived. Great for friends, family members, colleagues, organization members, or other groups who will be attending the festival together.
Cozumel is a popular Caribbean destination that draws many scuba divers, snorkelers, and seekers of sand and sun who are attracted by the reliably sunny and tropical climate. Or book a ferry to the mainland and enjoy some time in the coastal resort town of Playa del Carmen. When you’re done sightseeing, there’s shopping for traditional Mexican crafts and wares, including jewelry and custom-made sandals.
This cruise is currently sold out and while there is no waitlist, anyone interested is encouraged to check the booking site frequently. A $50 fee (or $100 after October 31, 2023) applies for any changes made to an existing reservation, including changes to guest names, cabin assignments, cabin upgrades, addition of roommates, or reinstatement of reservations that have been canceled or suspended. This fee does not apply for the correction of errors made by us or for changes made within 15 days of original reservation. Guests are required to adhere to the payment plan selected until balance is fully paid. Installment payments are due on the 15th of each month, with final payment due by November 15, 2023. For cabins reserved after October 31, 2023, full payment is due at time of booking.

If an account becomes 15 days past due, the customer will lose their cabin assignment and their reservation will be suspended. The customer will then have 15 days to bring the account current. If the account is brought current within those 15 days, they will receive a new cabin assignment, based on current availability and pricing. Any early discounts will be lost and the account balance adjusted accordingly. If an account becomes 30 days past due, the reservation will be automatically canceled and all payments forfeited.
Cruising is great way to spend your time off, and if you can combine it with something you love, you’ll have a difficult time finding a more ideal vacation. The Capital Jazz Cruise, technically (and more grandiosely) called the Capital Jazz SuperCruise, is one of several jazz cruises that take place each year. It is only the last function of Capital Jazz that we are interested in, however, so we’ll leave the rest behind. Scores of jazz groups and musicians play on board Capital Jazz’s cruises, and there are also a number of educational opportunities for passengers, like classes that are led by the performing musicians themselves.
